1st Flock Party, March 9th 2011

The beginning of a wonderful night. Tonight we had our first group meeting. Not all of the invited guest were able to attend but we did have everyone who had posted intro's arrive. Here are some photos to show you what everyone was up to and what we created to send to an old student of Dallas, named Gabby.
Lindsey creating a ShrinkyDink.
Scottie creating a mix CD sleeve.
Alex drawing a bunny to contribute to a grand project.
Me, making donut necklace.
Dallas seriously beaded all this in one evening. It was amazing and beautiful.

Hey Birds of a Feather gang,
I am very excited for this project. I need it to recover a very tragic postal incident. When I was little I mailed my favorite cabbage patch kid, Monty, all the way across the world to my cousin Melissa whose dad was stationed in Russia. She was going to take pictures with Monty and send it back for show and tell. But he never arrived! All I got back was a letter form Russian government saying that Monty was plucked form a cabbage path in St. Petersburg and trafficked to America illegally. THAY HAVE MY BABY! If I didn’t put him in that box and mail him away he would still be with his Papa. I bet he was so scared. We talked to a lawyer and he said my adoption of Monty wasn’t legally binding and there was nothing could do. My Heart was broken. It was more then my seven-year-old mind could handle. Its taken years to even unblock this tragedy from my memories as a child not to mention my lost of trust in the postal service. It’s been very cathartic to write about. Hopefully with some positive postal exchanges I can learn to love again.

Ok as you can tell I full of BS most the time, but here are some things I really do like!
This blog is kinda cool! MrSaltLake.com
This is the root of most of my comedy, and Jim Henson is my hero!
I don't know why but I'm obsessed with this guy, but I am!
My favorite movie. I even have a Hedwig tattoo!
My other favorite movie. I don't have a tattoo of this one!
I love cooking shows. in some other alternative universe I'm a famous chef!
I love The Doctor, the 10th one. not so fond on the new one!

Intro- Lindsay Decker

Yertle (left) Horton (right)

I come from a family of incredibly talented artists...but I somehow lost that gene but I still love to draw, especially, yup gonna say it, in my coloring books.  Besides that I love making origami, taking photos, sewing when I have assistance, cooking if I have a recipe, knitting, and most of all skiing.  Many people also don't think that map making is an art but it is and this is the best type of art I can make.  The most extensive knitting project I have completed was making an ivory colored blanket for my parents...it only took 3 years but once it was done, it was amazing.  I have a couple guilty pleasure foods but a new one is Buffalo Wings....yum!!  I love winter because of all the snow and most of all I love my two cats, Horton and Yertle, yup named after Dr. Seuss characters.

Hello, my name is...

I am Alexander Pratt. My interests in the crafty craft world range from DIY bike racks, stencils and occasionally I'll sew up some curtains, if needs be. I recently made some for my new bedroom. I stitched up a curtain door for my closet (The floral printed cotton makes the door look like the "secret" entrance to a fancy bordello or opium den) and I made some curtains for the window, which both blocks unwanted early morning sunlight and the peeping eyes of my reformed Juggalo and Juggalette neighbors (who happen reside not but 7' from my bed). But micron and colored pencil drawings are what I tend to gravitate to the most. I enjoy making silly Thank You cards for friends. On occasion I like to give pop-ups a try, though I have much to learn in this area. I also love cats, and food.

This is a black n' white pen drawing done for a zine put out by BIRDBRAIN PRESS. It's a self portrait, I'm the ham.
